Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Modified Banxia Houpo Decoction（ 半夏厚朴汤加味）combined with flupentixol-melitracen tablets on coronary heart disease angina pectoris complicated with depression.Method A total of 80 patients with coronary heart disease angina pectoris with depression were randomly divided into control group and treatment group

with 40 patients in each group. The control group was given 10. 5 mg oral flupentixol

melitracen tablets while the treatment group was additionally given Modified Banxia Houpo Decoction on the basis of the same treatment for once a day. After 4 weeks

efficacy of angina pectoris and electrocardio gram of both groups were observed

and the total cholesterol（ TC）

triglyceride（ TG）

high-density lipoprotein cholesterol（ HDLC）

low-density lipoprotein cholesterol（ LDL-C）

high-sensitivity C-reactive protein（ hs-CRP） levels and Hamilton’s depression Table（ HAMD） score in both groups were compared before and after treatment. Results The efficacy of angina pectoris and electrocardiogram in treatment group was supperior to that of the control group（ P < 0. 05）. Compared with before the treatment

the levels of TC

LDL-C

hs-CRP in both groups were significantly decreased（ P <0. 01）

and they were decreased more significantly in the treatment group（ P < 0. 05）. There was no significant difference in TG

HDL-C between the groups and before vs after treatment（ P > 0. 05）. The HAMD score in both groups were significantly decreased after treatment

and they were decreased more significantly in the treatment group（ P < 0. 01）. Conclusion Modified Banxia Houpo Decoction is helpful to reduce the levels of TC

LDL-C and hsCRP in patients with coronary heart disease and depression

and could improve the symptoms of angina pectoris and electrocardio gram

and significantly improve the patient’s depression.
