Professor LUO Songping thinks that the occurrence of metrorrhagia and metrostaxis is yin deficiency
and it is necessary to pay attention to the diagnosis and treatment to measure the development of the disease. The treatment of benefiting qi and tonifying yin should be used throughout the treatment
and the blood should not be astringed and stanched completely during the acute bleeding period but should be treated with activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis medicine. It should be cautious when using blood-activating herbs which have pungent and nature of warmth and dryness
and to choose the herbs with function of storing without transporting. LUO Yuankai’s empirical formula
Modified "Ernian Decoction"(二稔汤)
is often used to benefit qi and nourish blood and consolidate and control blood. In the stage of cessation of bleeding
there is more attention needed to tonifying the kidney and treating the disease
taking into account the conditioning of the liver and spleen
which is often treated with LUO Yuankai’s empirical formula "Ziyin Guqi Decoction"(滋阴固气汤). Moreover
she creates paste prescription to correct deviation and dispel disease. In addition
it is necessary to pay attention to offer the emotional counseling of patients to cure the body and mind and to regulate the diet simultaneously.
