Objective To explore the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine( TCM) syndrome of male acute gout arthritis by data mining. Methods The symptom information of 316 male patients with acute gout arthritis was collected. Each symptom was used as a statistical variable
assigning value 1 or 0 for "with"or "without"a symptom. The frequency and frequency rate of each symptom were calculated. Factor analysis was performed on the main symptoms and common factors were extracted. Clustering analysis was performed using the common factor as a variable. Results The symptoms with a frequency rate more than 30% were red tongue( 62. 0%)
fat tongue( 56. 3%)
fatigue( 45. 6%)
joint burning( 42. 7%)
bitter mouth( 38. 3%)
rapid pulse( 36. 1%)
joint cold pain( 32. 6%)
stomach distension( 32. 3%)
and aversion to cold( 30. 1%). A total of 10 common factors were extracted. The total contribution rate was 69. 667%. Clustering analysis obtained 5 types of male acute gout arthritis syndrome differentiation including spleen-kidney yang deficiency type
internal accumulation of phlegm-heat type
heat-toxic flaming type
liver-kidney deficiency type
and yang deficiency and damp obstruction type. Conclusion The main TCM syndrome differentiation pattern of male acute gout arthritis can be divided into 5 types
but the clinical syndrome should be combined with the specific treatment of the patient’s disease course
