This paper analyzed the cases and problems in the process of cross-sectional research in the field of traditional Chinese medicine( TCM)
to provide ideas and references for following research. Combining a number of cross-sectional studies based on community populations
related issues in the research process were reviewed and analyzed. The main problems in the cross-sectional study included questionnaire development
site survey
data verification and database construction. During the implementation process
attention should be paid to the balance between reliability
validity and operability of the questionnaire; increase participation and compliance of residents through multiply paths; adequately training and rationally structure the composition of investigators; pay attention to the specification of storage and transportation of biological samples. The management and quality control of research data should be carried out throughout the research process. Cross-sectional survey research based on community is of great significance for prevention and control of chronic diseases. It is expected that by continuously optimizing the details of the implementation process
the technical specifications for community cross-sectional research that meet the development needs of China and suitable for promotion and application will be formed.
