Gout is a common rheumatic immune disease in traditional Chinese medicine
it is believed that dampness is one of the most common causes of gout. Gout is divided into active period and intermittent period according to the state of disease activity
while intermittent gout is mostly classified as spleen deficiency leading to damp encumbrance in which patients usually have gastrointestinal manifestations such as diarrhea
loose stools and other symptoms related to intestinal flora imbalance. Activating spleen and resolving dampness can effectively relieve the imbalance of intestinal flora in patients with intermittent gout
and effectively reduce the acute attack rate of gout. Based on the basic pathogenesis of spleen deficiency leading to dampness
this paper explored the relationship between the onset of gout with spleen deficiency and dampness and the intestinal flora in order to deepen the clinical understanding of gout and broaden the clinical treatment ideas.
