Objective To analyze the regional distribution characteristics of traditonal Chinese medicine(TCM) syndromes of coronary heart disease in China. Methods Clinical epidemiological survey methods were used
syndromes factors and TCM syndrome types of 8129 patients with coronary heart disease from 7 regions in Northeast
North China
East China
Central China
South China
Southwest
and Northwest China were summarized in terms of differences and laws. Results The most common deficiency syndrome factors in all areas are qi deficiency and yin deficiency
and the excess syndrome factors are blood stasis and phlegm turbidity. The geographical distribution of blood stasis and qi deficiency are similar
suggesting a possible correlation between the two factors. Qi deficiency and blood stasis are most common in Northeast China. Phlegm turbidity is most common in Southwest and South China. Yin deficiency is most common in southwest and south China
and qi stagnation is relatively common in Northeast
North China
East China
Central China
South China
and Northwest China
and is rare in the Southwest China. Generally
the severity of excess syndromes is higher than that of deficiency syndromes
demonstrating the feature that excess is higher than deficiency. Conclusion The regional distribution of TCM syndromes in patients with coronary heart disease has common characteristics and regional characteristics.
