Objective To analyze the relevant factors affecting the clinical efficacy of lung-supplementing moxibustion in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). Methods Data of 96 cases of COPD in stable stage were collected before treatment and 3 months after treatment
including general conditions
related diseases
acute aggravation
clinical symptoms and signs
classification of dyspnea
6-minute walking distance and quality of life. A total of 96 patients who received lung-supplementing moxibustion were divided into 2 groups
effective group(72 cases) and ineffective group(24 cases). To reduce the number of acute exacerbations ≥ 0 times per year at 3 months of treatment was considered as effective. Single factor and multi factor analysis was carried out by the methods of group comparison
correlation analysis and Logistic regression to screen the relevant factors that affect the clinical effects of lung-supplementing moxibustion on COPD. Factors screened by 2 of the 3 methods at the same time were regarded as the final influencing factors. Results The influencing factors of Logistic regression analysis were education level(P=0.033)
smoking history(P=0.030)
number of acute exacerbations in the previous year(P=0.001)
duration of acute exacerbations(P=0.012). The influencing factors screened by Spearman correlation analysis were education level(r=0.221)
smoking history(r=-0.221)
number of acute exacerbations in the previous year(r=0.474)
and duration of acute exacerbations(r=0.325). The influencing factors screened by t test or rank sum test include smoking history
the number of acute exacerbations in the previous year and the duration of acute exacerbation(P < 0.05). Conclusion Factors affecting the clinical efficacy of lung-supplementing moxibustion in the treatment of COPD include education level
