Abstract
This paper explored the clinical application of successive trigger needling by taking omalgia as an example. Successive trigger needling is characterized by selecting acupoints based on tenderness and re-needling after needling
which can be used for wandering bi syndrome(痹证). Omalgia is a channel sinew disease mainly manifested as pain and joint dysfunction. When successive trigger needling is applied to treat omalgia
ancient methods of point selection and manipulation should be based on to take tenderness point as the key. This paper further explores on how to dynamically and repeatedly search for the location of tenderness points and identify the location of the disease
briefly describes the law of location
number and changes of the tenderness points
and advises to use tenderness points as needling points. During manipulation
patients are arranged and fixed at proper posture
and needles are punctured at the points of tenderness with successive trigger needling methods; the needling was performed at different levels of a single acupoint or at different locations of multiple acupoints with appropriate simulation till the tenderness is not significant.
