VIP and Wanfang Data were searched for papers involving electrical characteristics of Yuan-source points from their inception dates till October 10 th
2020. Database of included papers was established and data were extracted; the frequency of twelve Yuan-source points and electrical indicators were calculated based on bibliometric methods; the correlation between disease and electrical characteristics of Yuan-source points was assessed through network analysis method. Results A total of 86 papers were included. The top five Yuan-source points with high frequency were Chongyang(ST 42
n=57)
Taiyuan(LU 9
n=55)
Taichong(LV 3
n=53)
Taibai(SP 3
n=52)
and Taixi(KI 3
n=51). The most frequent electric indicator was electric resistance(n=38)
followed by conductivity(n=16)
volt-ampere area(n=15) and inertial area(n=12). There were 62 disease-related papers
of which digestive system diseases(16.92%)
circulatory system diseases(15.38%)
endocrine/nutrition and metabolic diseases(13.85%) were majorly investigated. Of the 14 papers providing information on relevance of internal organs disease and electronic characteristics of Yuan-source points
it was found that gastric and duodenal ulcers(n=12)
diabetic nephropathy(n=10)
and fatty liver(n=7) were the three largest out-degree diseases to Yuan-source points
and Chongyang(ST 42
n=8)
Daling(PC 7
n=6) and Taixi(KI 3
n=6) were the top three largest in-degree points. Conclusion Gastric and duodenal ulcers
diabetic nephropathy
and fatty liver can cause relatively more changes in the electrical characteristics of the Yuan-source points
of which Chongyang(ST 42)
Daling(PC 7) and Taixi(KI 3) are the mostly affected.
