This paper summarized professor PIAO Bingkui′s commonly used drug groups in treating tumors

and discussed his thoughts in clinical practice and academic researches. It is believed that the core disease mechanism of tumor should be considered as two aspects

deficiency and excess

and healthy qi deficiency is the basis of tumor pathogenesis. Therefore

reinforcing healthy qi and fostering the root is considered as the core treatment principle in clinical practice

and correspondingly drug groups are formulated including Huangqi（Radix Astragali）

Danggui（Radix Angelicae Sinensis）

Nuzhenzi（Fructus Ligustri Lucidi）

Gouqizi（Fructus Lycii） to reinforce healthy qi and foster root

as well as Chenpi（Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae）

Chaoshanzha（fried Fructus Crataegi）

Chaoshenqu（fried Massa Medicata Fermentata）

and Chaomaiya（dried Fructus Hordei Germinatus） to protect stomach and activate spleen. Simultaneously

the drug groups target to tumors in different parts can be developed after fully considering the tumor specifics and the physiological characteristics of related zang-fu organs（脏腑）
