Theoretical innovation is urgently needed to improve the clinical effects of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B(CHB) and related liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. Considering the classical theories of TCM and the pathological evolution of CHB
it is believed that "deficiency
toxin
stasis
and accumulation" are the core pathogenesis in the process of hepatitis B viral infection
and the corresponding TCM treatment strategies are suggested to be "supplementing and boosting spleen and kidney
venting pathogen and resolving toxins"
"boosting qi
invigorating blood and removing accumulation"
and "reinforcing healthy qi
dispelling pathogen
removing accumulation and toxins". From the dynamic pathogenesis of "deficiency-toxin"
"deficiency-stasis" and "deficiency-accumulation-toxin"
the integrated treatment strategy of CHB viral infection has been proposed
so as to construct a TCM pathogenesis system for CHB.
