"Inflammation-cancer transformation" may explain the mechanism in the pathogenesis and progre-ssion of precancerous lesions of gastric cancer(PLGC). Spleen and stomach damp-heat and PLGC "inflammation-cancer transformation" are similar in terms of etiology
and both have the pathogenic characteristics of inducing cancer
easily damaging healthy qi and flowing into other Zang(脏) organs. If spleen and stomach damp-heat and inflammatory microenvironment continue to exist
the internal environment of the body will be affected
thereby reducing the body′s ability to resist pathogens
and ultimately leading to the malignant progression of PLGC. The pathogenesis of spleen and stomach damp-heat is an important internal mechanism for the "inflammation-cancer transformation" of PLGC
which can be induced either by external contraction of damp-heat damaging the stomach collaterals
or by internal damage of the spleen and stomach leading to pathogen predominance and healthy qi depletion
or by pathogenic toxin of static heat constraint in the late stage of the disease bringing about progressions.
