Considering current social environment and people's living and behavior habits, this paper holds that chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) patients often have both deficiency and constraint condition. The deficiency of five
zang
(脏), imbalance of qi and blood, and constraint and obstruction of meridians and collaterals are the key pathogenesis. In clinical practice, it is suggested to put focus on the pathogenesis of deficiency and constraint, and take methods of supplementing deficiency and resolving constraint. The points of conception vessel, the foot
taiyin
(太阴) spleen channel and the foot
yangming
(阳明) stomach channel can be used to boost
qi
and nourish the blood as well as tonify the deficiency of five
zang
. The points of the hand
jueyin
(厥阴) pericardium channel and the foot
jueyin
liver channel, that is
Neiguan
(PC6) and
Taichong
(LR3), in combination with the luo-connecting points Lieque (LU7), Waiguan (TE5) and Fenglong (ST40) as appropriate can be used to rectify
qi
and activate blood as well as resolve the constraint of meridians and collaterals. Moreover, attention should also be paid to regulating the mind, and both mind and brain should be adjusted simultaneously to calm the mind. In addition, it is necessary to use point combination considering the whole body symptoms.
