92 cases of late stage of cor pulmonale were randomly and equally divided into 2 groups

the observation group and controlled group. The former was treated with Chinese traditional drugs of clearing heat

eliminating phlegm

stopping cough

dispersing the Lung

benefitting Qi and nourishing Yin

while the latter exclude the drugs for benefitting Qi and nourishing Yin. Results revealed that the remission effect for symptoms in the observation group was superior to the controlled group especially good at controlling palpitation and shortness of breath.
