Objective: To observe therapeutic effect of Qingliang Huoxue Yin on retinal vein obstruction(RVO) of blood heat stagnation type. Methods: The patients of RVO were definitely diagnosed by fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA). Among them
the patients of blood heat stagnation type were randomly divided into a treatment group(n=68) treated by self-stipulated Qingliang Huoxue Yin and a control group(n=30) treated by intravenous drip of Mailuoning. Clinical therapeutic effects of the two groups and changes of hemorhologic indexes
and plasma tissue type plasminogen activator (T-PA) and plasminogen activator inhibitor(PAl) activities after treatment in the treatment group were investigated. Results: The total effective rate was 80.9% in the treatment group. superior to the control group (P<0.05)
and after treatment the hemorhelogic indexes improved and plasma T-PA increased and PAI decreased significantly in the treatment group
superior to that before treatment (P<0.01). Conclusion: Qingliang Huoxue Yin has a better therapeutic effects for the patient of RVO of blood heat stagnation type.
