Objective:To observe clinical therapeutic effects of the method of tonifying the kidney

removing dampness and activating blood circulation on focal and segmental glomerular sclerosis（FSGS）and IgA nephropathy（IgAN）.Methods:64 out-patients were diagnosed as FSGS（n=30）and IgAN（n=34）by renal biopsy.The effects of the combined therapy on 24-hour urinary total protein（UTP）and Serum creatinine（SCr）were investigated.Results:The effective rate after treatment of 6 months and 12 months was 80.0% and 83.3% in FSGS group and 82.4% and 85.3% in IgAN group

respectively

with no significant difference between the two groups.The level of UTP decreased significantly after 3 months’treatment in IgAN group（P<0.05）

while it reduced after 15 months’treatment in FSGS group（P<0.05）

with no significant difference in the level of UTP between the two groups（P>0.05）.SCr level reduced significantly after 6 months’treatment in both groups（P<0.05）

with no significant difference between the two groups（P>0.05）.Conclusion:The combined method of tonifying the kidney

removing dampness and activating blond circulation can improve symptoms and signs

decrease UTP

stabolize renal function.
