Objective To summarize the regularity of choosing the fourteen meridians’ acupoints in the clinical controlled trials of treatment of myopia.Methods Articles of randomized controlled trials or clinical controlled trials concerning the acupuncture treatment for myopia from January 1980 to April 2010 were retrieved from the Chinese Journal Full-text Database（CJFD）

Chinese Biological Medical Literature Database（CBM）

Chinese Periodicals of Science and Technology Database

and Wanfang Data.The acupoints used in the enrolled articles were classified and tidied up and the data extraction table was designed to observe the frequency of appearance of acupoints.Finally the enrolled acupoints were classified according to their distribution on the fourteen meridians

locations

and properties for processing the related data.Results Totally 82 articles were enrolled.The acupoints used were involving almost all the meridians

of them

those of the Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang were most frequently used

Jingming（BL 1） and Zanzhu（BL 2） used as main ones appeared 191 times

accounted for 31.01% of all the main acupoints.Danshu（BL 19） used as accompanied one appeared 21 times

accounted for 19.44% of all the accompanied acupoints.The second offen-used acupoints were of the Gall Bladder Meridian of Foot-Shaoyang

of which

Fengchi（GB 20） used as main one appeared 52 times

accounted for 7.18% of the main acupoints.In these 82 articles

the first 12 frequently used meridians acupoints were Jingming（BL 1）

Zanzhu（BL 2）

Fengchi（GB 20）

Taiyang（EX-HN5）

Chengqi（ST 1）

Sibai（ST 2）

Hegu（LI 4）

Yuyao（EX-HN4）

Sizhukong（TE 23）

and Shenshu（BL 23）.Conclusion The Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang is used as the main meridian in the acupuncture treatment for myopia

and the aucpoints around the eyes are offen selected as the main ones for treatment.
