Objective To observe the effect of intervention with Bushen Huayu Decoction （Decoction for tonifying the kidney and dissolving blood stasis） on the secondary osteoporosis （OP） caused by rheumatoid arthritis （RA）. Methods The 61 enrolled cases were randomized into treatment group

30 cases

and control group

31 cases. The treatment group was administered the modified Bushen Huayu Decoction

2 doses a day

while the control group was prescribed Alfacalcidol Capsule for oral taking

once a day

0.25μg each time

and Caltrate D Tablet

once every evening

600mg each time. Treatment was given for 3 months. The duration of morning stiffness
