Objective To evaluate the effect of Formula Ⅱ for Parkinson’s Disease on the TCM syndrome of early Parkinson’s disease patients with liver-kidney deficiency syndrome. Methods Sixty cases of early Parkinson’s disease were randomized into the Formula Ⅱ for Parkinson’s Disease group and Madopar group
with 30in each. The Formula Ⅱ for Parkinson’s Disease group was given one dose of Formula Ⅱ for Parkinson’s Disease
twice daily. The Madopar group was given Madopar Tablets from 62.5mg each time
twice daily to 250mg each time
three times daily. The treatment course lasted for 3 months. The TCM syndrome was scored and the therapeutic effect of TCM syndrome was evaluated after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the FormulaⅡfor Parkinson’s Disease group and Madopar group was 89.66%and 17.86% respectively
with significant difference between groups(P<0.01).The scores of tremor
hypertonicity of the limbs
bradykinesia
dizziness
insomnia
weak waist and constipation were significantly decreased in the Formula Ⅱ for Parkinson’s Disease group after treatment(P<0.05or P<0.01).There were significant differences between groups in the scores of tremor
dizziness
insomnia
weak waist and constipation after treatment(P<0.05or P<0.01).Conclusion Formula Ⅱ for Parkinson’s Disease can obviously improve the TCM syndrome of early Parkinson’s disease with liver-kidney deficiency syndrome
with better therapeutic effect of TCM syndrome than Madopar.
