Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of Qi-Supplementing Blood-Quickening Femur-Nourishing Decoction（QSBQFND） combined with interventional therapy for early-middle stage avascular necrosis（AVN）.Methods Eighty early-middle stage AVN patients with qi deficiency blood stasis and liver-kidney deficiency pattern were randomized into the treatment group and control group

with 40 in each.The treatment group was given QSBQFND and interventional therapy.The control group was given interventional therapy.The efficacy of TCM and western medicine

Harris Hip Score（HHS）

TCM symptom scores and adverse reactions were observed.Results The efficacy of western medicine in the treatment group and control group was 82.50% and 70.00% respectively

with a significant difference between groups（P<0.05）.The efficacy of TCM in the treatment group and control group was 85.00% and 65.00% respectively

with a significant difference between groups（P<0.05）.Comparing with the control group

the scores of HHS in the treatment group were significantly increased（P<0.05）.Comparing with the control group

the TCM symptom scores in the treatment group were significantly decreased（P<0.05 or P<0.01）.There was no significant difference between groups in the adverse reactions and surgical complications（P>0.05）.Conclusion QSBQFND combined with interventional therapy is effective for early-middle stage AVN and it can obviously relieve the symptoms.
