This paper makes brief analysis on the temporal element in pulse diagnosis theory in Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon( 黄帝内经) with respect to effects of year
season
day and night on pulse diagnosis. The book holds that normal pulse manifestations conform to the seasonal features
while abnormal manifestations do not. The same pulse represents different diseases in different seasons. Prognosis and disease location can be decided by seasonal pulse feature. Normal pulse manifestation varies with day and night
and abnormal pulse is related to day and night. At the same time it holds that that the human body pulse manifestation has a certain relationship with the phases of the moon
