Pulmonary interstitial fibrosis is one of the difficult and complicated diseases
and currently there is no effective or safe therapy. Based upon the pectoral Qi theory of ZHANG Xichun
this article systematically discusses the theoretical and practical basis of pectoral Qi and pulmonary interstitial fibrosis. It is believed that
the process of pulmonary interstitial fibrosis includes three stages: pectoral Qi deficiency stage
pectoral Qi sinking stage and pectoral Qi dissipating stage. Invigorating Qi and ascending Qi is the basic principle during the treatment for these three stages. This provides new theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary interstitial fibrosis.
