According to the etiology and clinical manifestations of cancer-induced fatigue
it belongs to the category of "consumptive disease"in traditional Chinese medicine( TCM). The principle of treatment should be mainly replenishing and benefiting
and the moxibustion can regulate the balance of the body’s qi
blood
yin and yang as a whole
through warming the meridians and unblocking the collaterals
replenishing the deficiency and cultivating the root
promoting qi movement and activating blood circulation
which can play a therapeutic role in cancer-induced fatigue. Based on the theory of"moxibustion treatment for major diseases"in Bianque Heart Book( 《扁鹊心书》)
combined with the research results of moxibustion prevention and treatment of cancer-related fatigue in modern clinical research and animal experiments
it is proposed to use moxibustion to treat cancer-induced fatigue by the theory of"moxibustion treatment for major diseases". The specific treatment principles and methods are life-saving moxibustion to strengthen yang qi
moxibustion at Mingguan( SP17)
Guanyuan( RN4) to warm and tonify the spleen and kidney. Few acupoints are selected and the moxbustion is focused. The consumptive disease should be treated with early moxibustion. The discussion on the theoretical basis and evidence support of moxibustion to prevent and treat cancerrelated fatigue can provide new ideas for moxibustion prevention and treatment of malignant tumor-related diseases.
