In the current construction of acupuncture disciplines
there is a lack of an independent position to study with the humanistic method as the basic path. It cannot clarify the ownership of such research in the entire discipline category
which affects the overall development of the discipline and the objectivity of academic mechanism construction. We should emphasize the importance of the humanistic research path of acupuncture
and initially define its scope
including 5 aspects i.e. the traceability of the ancient and modern concepts of acupuncture and the theoretical contention
textual criticism of the ancient literature
acupuncture academic history and schools
the thought and culture
and the exploration of methodologies in multiple humanities
clarifying its connotation and extension. Based on the relevant research writings since 1949
this paper reviewed the contemporary development of acupuncture humanities research
further clarified the research path and the possible impact on the future subject system innovation
