Based on the theories of "qi reaching the affected area" and "the correlation between channels and zang-fu organs"
this paper put forward a new viewpoint of "acupuncture navigating drugs towards disease location". This paper aimed to explain the theory and basic framework of "acupuncture navigating drugs towards disease location" from what it is
how it works
and what the significance of it is. The key points of this theory and framework include acupoints
target disease
channels and collaterals
and modern technology. From the perspective of the combined application of acupuncture and drugs
it is proposed that acupuncture at channels and acupoints in correlation to zang-fu organs can help guiding channel qi to reach the disease location(target zang-fu). And by changing the microenvironment of the disease location
can the drug volume at the disease location
or the action efficacy of drugs on target tissues be increased. Accordingly
the effects of acupuncture and drugs are synergistic
